FAQ
What is Asorbio made from?
Asorbio is able to absorb of odours because of the porous structure of the zeolite mineral that asorbio is made from. Zeolite minerals belong to the family of aluminosilicates, which are related to clays. There is both natural and synthetic zeolite. The latter is free of contamination and therefore has more pronounced absorbent properties. The raw materials for the synthesis of zeolite are obtained from bauxite (alumino-component) and sand (silicate component). Due to its absorbent qualities, Asorbio eliminate moisture and odours in the air. It can also be used for cleaning a swimming pool or wastewater.
Asorbio is extremely suitable for use in the household since it quickly eliminates both minor or major problems caused by unpleasant odours (such as sweat, animals, closed and stuffy spaces, waste bins, foods in the refrigerator). Asorbio has a granulate form and can be easily vacuumed after use. In general, Absorbio comes in a permeable bag through which odours are absorbed. After use the bag can be disposed of in the ordinary waste.
How does Asorbio works?
Because of the channels and cavities in the porous material, Asorbio has the capacity to absorb gases and vapours. Capillary condensation takes in the material, enabling absorption of water of up to 25% relative to the weight of the Asorbio without changing its granular form.
Why is zeolite an environmentally friendly product?
Zeolite is composed of zeolite, a clay-like material that can be obtained in nature or produced synthetically by two inputs: bauxite and sand. In both cases, the final mineral is the same, the only difference being in its purity, which is higher in the case of a synthetic zeolite. Similar to diamonds, which may also be obtained in nature or produced synthetically greater purity enables greater hardness. The zeolite in soil does not fall apart – it is inert and has the same character as the clay or loam – and therefore is environmentally friendly.
How do I use Asorbio?
Before use, Asorbio is to be removed from the box nd its protective film. Only then does the absorption of moisture or unpleasant odours and the purification the air in the environment begin to take place. In the case of use in refrigerator, the Absorbio pad is placed on a shelf and food odours are absorbed and eliminated. In the case of use in footwear, an Absorbio footpad is placed in the interior of each shoe. Moisture and odours will be absorbed in around one hour. Asorbio also produces a high-power cleanser power for swimming pool water, even if only one part of the sand in the filter is replaced. For example, if one third of the sand is substituted with Asorbio, the purifying power of the filter will be more than doubled.
How do I dispose of Asorbio after use?
Because zeolite is a natural mineral, Asorbio can be disposed (without the bag) in soil or composter, where it will continue to act as an absorbent for liquids, including liquid fertilizers, and contribute to the performance of cultivated areas due to the improved balance of substances in the soil. Asorbio may be disposed in a garbage can (with the bag) or into trash manipulated by wastewater treatment plant (without bag) as it will continue to have an additional positive impact in absorbing heavy metals and odours. Like clay, sand, and stone with which it shares characteristics, Asorbio is organic product. It is inert and does not decompose, and therefore is anti-allergenic and not harmful to health.
The manifacturer – Silkem d.o.o. has established a system of recycling Asorbio for industrial use, i.e. return and regeneration of the saturated zeolites.
Why is Asorbio suitable for use in households and agriculture?
Asorbio is very suitable for use in household since it quickly eliminates of minor or major problems caused by unpleasant odours. Asorbio is harmless and non-toxic. In fact, the component zeolite has also been used for anti-cancer treatments and detoxification. The latter can be explained by the fact that the zeolite has a large surface of pores, thus ensuring binding (inhibition) of reactive substances such as toxins and free radicals, which are a major factor in aging for humans as well as the maturation of fruits and vegetables. The product absorbs ethynyl gas that is released with the maturation of foodstuff (such as apples, persimmons, and bananas). Asorbio provides benefit for soil since it absorbs substances which are in abundance (rain, fertilizers) and emits them in when they are in short supply. Hence a balance in the soil is established and plants tolerate are better able to tolerate drought because they are more evenly nourished. Asorbio can also be used in agriculture to eliminate intense smell of manure from the surroundings. Asorbio, placed in bedding, is particularly effective in reducing the unpleasant odours in the stable.
Who produces Asorbio and where can I get more information?
SILKEM d.o.o. is a limited liability company whose founders have forty years of experience in the production of aluminium hydrate and special hydrated alumina in Kidričevo, Slovenia. After production was closed down in the “red section” of the old aluminium factory in 1991, we successfully established a new company, Silkem, drawing on innovations and new adaptations. During the past ten years, Slikem has developed new strategies, in particular B2B business approach on more than 40 national markets, as wall as a specialised production programme for synthetic zeolite, silicates, and special aluminiums.
Now after twenty years, Silkem has reached a new milestone, penetrating foreign and domestic mass market with its new products, the result of the company’s own development. For this purpose, the company registered the brand name Asorbio.
